Product Review: Yes to Blueberries

I love when I discover a new product from my favorite cruelty free brands.

So the reality of my life is I turn 35 this week… which is half way to 70… which means I really need to use age defying products now. ūüôā

That being said I am always on the hunt for great affordable cruelty free products that take care of my skin. I have started working again so I am back to wearing make up (gasp) so I do need a daily routine that keeps my skin from breaking out but keeping it young fresh.

I think I have found a fabulous day cream. I am still on the hunt for a night cream. Although, YOU CAN use this product at night too.

I found the texture of this product smooth and the smell is pretty fresh. Thankfully no burning (yes to carrots some of the products have a tingling sensation that turns my skin pink).

I am not sure but I even think my skin tone has a dewy texture right now but that might be the make up? ha!

Overall I give this an A on the Jen’s Beauty scale. It is super affordable and very easy to apply. Plus it uses natural products and is cruelty free. Give this one a go, it is never too early to worry about anti aging products. Click the link and you can order it now.

Product Review Nature Love Body Polish

Ok guys if there is one product I am going to consider having a love affair with this product is it.  I found this absolutely amazing product at TJ Maxx and I have scoured the internet trying to find a link to buy more.  I am that in love.  This product makes my skin feel amazing.  AMAZING I tell you.

I have started researching activated charcoal and I am pretty sure I am a huge fan.  Did you know that you can brush your teeth with the stuff???? It is apparently the new fountain of youth.   I am pretty sure I will make sure that I always have activated charcoal in my arsenal from here on out.

This product is of course cruelty free and just absolutely amazing. ¬† It will make you have a love affair. ¬†It specifically says to not use more than twice a week so I am going try real hard and stick to that but believe me I can’t wait until my next shower with this scrub. ¬†It makes my skin feel silky smooth and it makes my skin smell fresh. ¬† So go to TJ Maxx and buy some immediately.

Product Review Alba Hawaiian Facial Mask

If you have been around for awhile you know I love my beauty face creams and masks.  I only buy cruelty free and when I find a new product I am in love with I have to share it with you.   Well guys I have found a new product that I am absolutely 100% behind.

I love just about every product I buy from Alba. ¬†I use their shampoo mostly because every single time I lather up I take a trip to Hawaii and my hair smells amazing. ¬† I love Alba even more because they are cruelty free and really strive to use vegan products. ¬† ¬†I love their company and when I find a new product of their’s I will often pick it up.

This product is an amazing facial mask, it does have some acidic enzymes that promises to deliver glowing skin. ¬†Now I am not sure if I have glowing skin lately but I can tell you my skin does feel softer and properly exfoliated, which my best friend turned my esthetician is constantly on me about. ¬† Trust me guys she DOES NOT play when it comes to exfoliating and she knows if you haven’t been, she is like freaking santa when it comes to skin care.

Anyway, it is a pretty potent product and I can assure you that it is not one you will use every day, or hell even every other day.  Currently I am going to use it twice a week to help maintain my fresh skin appearance.    I found this product at TJ Maxx but I can assure you that it is at most drug stores that carry all natural products.  I have seen it at Walgreens, Krogers & Wal-mart.  It is a drug store brand that will run you about 11.99 and is pretty modest when it comes to skin care.  Fantastic product that will take you to Hawaii for the five minutes and leave you with a fresh appearance.

Please note I am 34 and I do have normal skin that has some scarring from my teenage years.  The skin care products I recommend are often for my skin type, so please read product labels carefully.

Lush Cosmetics Cranberry face mask

This past weekend I went to the Apple store with my mother, I agreed to go with her because next to the Apple store is a LUSH cosmetics.  Now those of you that are not aware of LUSH cosmetics, you should be.  They are a cruelty free company that offer a lot of vegan products.  The products are handmade and they are AMAZING.

My newest focus¬†currently is¬†finding and switching to cruelty free products, I will spare the animal activist spill today, but for me it is a huge focus. ¬†My goal in 2016 is ¬†to live a 100% vegan lifestyle and because of that I will share fun products with you. ¬†I am also really trying to find new ways to escape your cubicle on a budget, and who doesn’t like having a beauty day??? It really beats sitting in the cubicle.¬†

OK I digress, after hanging with mom I went to LUSH to find bath bombs, a face mask & some steamer tabs.

First a major shout out to the Shops at Willowbend LUSH employees, your customer service ROCKS! I should have snagged the girls name that helped me but she was amazing and helped me discover…

The Cranberry Mask

Sadly this mask is seasonal (boo!). Why is this sad, because it is AMAZING.  Amazing, since I started the mask I have been asked three times what products am I using because my skin looks bright and dewy (score for me, this is a bonus because I rarely wear makeup to work!).

My silly face with the mask on :)

The mask is easy to use, smells amazing & great for my skin type which is pretty normal these days.

You have to keep the mask refrigerated because it is made from natural ingredients  & after using five masks you get a free one just bring the cleaned containers back.  They also have really cool pictures of the person that made the particular mask you are using. (AWESOME) I am a fan of the packaging.

LUSH does not test their finished products on animals and they are a huge advocate for eliminating animal testing.  They choose natural ingredients over artificial ones when able and they are overall a great & groovy company that you really must try.  I love when I am able to go to lush and I really wish there was one closer to Rockwall!

I think they are also very reasonably priced and I can use their face masks vs going to get a facial which means more money for traveling in the near future.  Win win in my book!  Huge win that it is affordable with such great results!

Note: I could only find the product on their UK site, however it is available in the US (at least in Dallas)

Stay tuned for my reviews on products & other craziness. ūüôā
