How I prepped for Chengdu

This will be my second trip to China.   China was a country I instantly fell in love with and could not wait to go back to.  My love affair with China started in 2017 and I can assure you it will continue the rest of my days.

Then I watched Anthony Bordain visit Chengdu on Netflix and quickly realized I am pretty screwed.

I quickly realized, the Sichuan province is different from Beijing.  Truth be told I am more nervous about the food than I was before we went to Beijing.  Why?  Cause it is known to be hot as hell.

I have said over and over and over I am not a foodie.  I don’t travel to eat, I really just eat to keep moving and to stay healthy.  If food was not a requirement in life I would likely never eat.     I do not eat spicy foods at all and also I can’t use chop sticks.   I suck at it actually.

So back when I decided to go on this trip… I realized my co-workers eat a lot of Thai and Chinese… I made sure to order spicy dishes.  Now I have to admit the first time I did this, I thought I was going to die.  It was horrible but I kept trying to eat spicy food.

Now while I am not a foodie person  I can eat spicier food.  So maybe just maybe I can survive Chengdu.

Just escape the cubicle already
