I love fun little tours, to be honest I love independent travel, but I often supplement with unique side tours that make the trip a little touristy. Plus I often discover that the tour guides typically love their city, country… and they are often very passionate.
When dad and I started to plan our trip we decided that we would take the Kualoa Ranch Movie Sites & Ranch Tour the day after we arrived, we would be able to relax and deal with any jet lag we may have (we didn’t have much!)
I of course in typical fan-girl fashion geeked out over the tour because well Jurassic Park was filmed there.
I love Jurassic Park. I can go on and on and on about the science behind Jurassic Park, any ride themed after the movie… and well the movie in general.
I would learn there were about 80 films at the ranch.
Oh and I mention Lost was filmed at the ranch?
Yep you read that right folks, Lost was also filmed there.
Now I jumped off the Lost wagon after about season five, but I have a lot of friends that love Lost, and I promise you will have to do this if you are a lost junkie.
Pearl Harbor, Fifty First Dates, Godzilla… are just a few.
Overall this was a great first day in Hawaii tour for dad and me to go on. It was an utter blast and I am seriously missing my time in Hawaii. I can’t wait to go back!
Here are a few of the pics from the day. I apologize the quality isn’t the best, I had to buy a last minute point & shoot due to my DSLR charger being MIA. Believe me when I tell you the photos do not do Hawaii any justice!
