Book Review: Talk of the Town (Daily, Texas #1) by Lisa Wingate

Summary:  The show American Megastar is the hottest thing on television but its associate producer, Mandalay Florentino, is worried. She’s just arrived in the tiny town of Daily, Texas, to arrange a surprise “reunion concert” for hometown finalist Amber Amberson. Only it turns out everyone in town seems to know the secret. And paparazzi are arriving. Word from Hollywood is that Amber has disappeared with a “bad boy” actor. Can anything go right in this tumbleweed town? Imagene Doll loves her town of Daily, Texas, but things are lonely without her beloved husband. Life seems dull. At least until that fancy-dressed woman pulls into town, looking terrified and glamorous all at once. Soon life’s not the least bit boring as Imagene and the rest of Daily find themselves at the center of a media maelstrom–with a young girl’s future on the line.

My review:  Fun story this was the third book I downloaded when I first learned about the kindle app.  (I now own a kindle) I remember thinking wow people are willing to give away their hard work for free!

That being said this book was super cute.  The whole time I was reading it I kept thinking about the people on the voice who are from small towns and wonder if this is how they feel?

The characters were colorful which since I am from a small town in Texas felt very real.  They were believable to me, I also didn’t feel like they were exaggerated.  Seriously go to Celeste Texas and tell me these characters are exaggerated.    They were very Texas… to the point I would wager the author is from small town Texas.

That being said I loved the element of Hollywood in the story I felt it gave the story a little extra and I could not put this book down once I started the story I am just ashamed to admit I didn’t read it when  I first downloaded the story.
