A Shadow of Light (A Shade of Vampire #4) by Bella Forrest

Summary: Since the implosion at The Oasis and Derek’s stay at Hawk Headquarters, The Shade has fallen into a state of utter chaos. To make matters worse, the citizens of Derek’s kingdom have become suspicious of his loyalties and accuse him of siding with the enemy… At a time when Derek desperately needs full cooperation from his subjects, they wish to put their own King on trial.

Meanwhile, Sofia is being held hostage by the hunters. They are determined to rid her of her infatuation with the vampire. She submits to the strict routine and training they impose on her, but the only fuel that keeps her going is the thought of reuniting with Derek – something Reuben is fighting with every fiber of his being to ensure will never happen.

…Until one day, out of the blue, Reuben appears to have a change of heart and comes to Sofia with a proposal; a solution that she never dreamed possible. A solution that would fulfil her heart’s deepest desires and secure her and Derek’s future together, forever.

But can she really trust this man who is so renowned for his hatred of vampires? Does she even have a choice?

My Review:
Well it is time for my weekly round up of books that I read and/or listened to last week.  This book was the first one I finished last week I truly just feel like I can’t get enough of this series.  I am not sure if part of the reason I love this series is because two of my favorite narrators, Luke Daniels & Kate Rudd narrate or what but I love this story.

The third book in the installment left me with wanting more, but thankfully this series gave me some of what I craved.  There are so many point of views though, it is “almost” too distracting.  However, it is always fun reading a story told in multiple point of views because you learn what the characters are thinking.

I also love that Sofia, is a pretty strong character.  She is not whimsical and in love and making stupid decisions in the name of love.    I also love that Derek is not a jerk or controlling, which let’s face it peeps, is often the case with a vampire lover.  Time to start book five and I can’t wait to see what happens next because believe me these books end on cliffhangers.   Thank goodness I still have like 20 more to go 🙂
